I’ve just published a Youtube-video for promoting ‘Gharana’, my own radio programme on dutch music-radiostation De Concertzender.
‘Gharana’ is a 90-minute programme that focuses on artists from the North Indian raga tradition -hence the name ‘Gharana’- and is broadcast four times a year. In evry single episode I focus on one particular artist. In this clip I present the artists that are featured in the first three episodes: Patiala Kasur gharana-singer Kaushiki Chakrabarty, Mewati gharana-violinist Kala Ramnath and -scheduled for 30th May 2008- preview-material of Senia Maihar gharana-sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee.

Later on this year I will feature tabla player Yogesh Samsi and sitarist Irshad Khan in ‘Gharana’.
